Samana is a truly unique place in the world.
To most people it is known for its whale watching which occurs between January and March each year.
Around 5,000 humpback whales make the trip to Samana every year to mate.
I have been on a whale watching trip and witnessesed numerous whales in the waters of Samana Bay.
It is an astonishing sight when they get so close to the boats.
