This is really part three of the story. Please click here for the background to the prison gigs [part one].
In May 2006, British Ambassador Andy Ashcroft, Roberta Santana and Mike Charles [Los Tres Rebeldes] were invited to perform again at Najayo women`s prison in the Dominican Republic for Margarita de Cideno de Fernandez, wife of the Dominican President Leonel Fernandez Reyna.
This event was to publicise Dominican Mother`s Day and the prisoners were allowed to bring their children into the prison for the day.
I was priviledged to meet Margarita de Cideno de Fernandez, wife of Leonel Fernandez, President of Dominican Republic.
Below: We meet the First Lady of the Dominican Republic
Below: We got help from the prisoners on `Delilah`
Below: After the gig we enjoyed a meal with the First Lady

Left: After the success of the prison gigs, Los Tres Rebeldes played one more gig at the fantastic venue known as Casa de Teatro in Santa Domingo.
