Above: This was taken by myself on the beach at Bayahibe, outside the Catalonia Gran Dominicus.

Bayahibe resort beaches

Right: This is Bayahibe beach taken from the lighthouse at the Iberostar Hacienda.

There are some great walks along this beach and it is safe for swimming.

Left: The beach which is part of the Catalonia Gran Dominicus.

You are able to walk along the beach passing through the beach owned by each resort.

Right:

The Iberostar beach in Bayahibe.

This was one of the better stretches of beach in Bayahibe with plenty of room to swim in areas where there were no rocks.

Left:

Don`t be alarmed if you see an armed beach guard.

This fellow worked at night time on the beach at Bayahibe.

Whilst he looks a bit scary there is little crime compared to other parts of the Caribbean.

It is actually a functioning bar!
