Catalonia Gran Dominicus Entertainment
They tend to involve big dance routines with a variety of music. The `singers` lip-sync to the songs. I have stayed at many an all-inclusive and these shows held their own when compared with other similar shows elsewhere in the Caribbean. Whilst we were at the Catalonia Gran Dominicus, Dominican Republic, a particularly good show incorporated songs from the musical `Grease`. The shows are very popular and a good tip is to arrange your evening meal so that you have time to get a seat before 10pm. The below video gives a couple of examples from the shows. Disco There is usually some nightlife for those who to stay a little later. Everynight in the Merenguero bar they announce that the disco is opening and then form a `conga` so that everyone goes together! They also have beach dances once or twice per week.
To be fair these guys worked incredibly hard. From performing in the shows to organising merengue sessions around the merenguero bar they were at it all the time. There were also karaoke sessions, a quiz and numerous games for those that wanted to be involved. We saw darts, French boules, kayak racing, table tennis and archery to name but a few.
