For beach lovers, La Minitas Beach, located a short golf cart/shuttle bus drive (all rooms at Casa include a golf cart) is a secluded beach under the Caribbean coconut palms.
It is an excellent place for you to loll in the warm waters of the Caribbean.
There are plenty of activities at the beach including sailboats, kayaks, windsurf boards and paddleboats.
You will also be able to arrange fishing from the beach area.[cont left]
La Minitas Beach is kept in excellent condition and it is the nearest to Casa de Campo.
You will find a selection of bars and restaurants nearby.
Casa de Campo is also about a 25 minute drive from Dominicus and Bayahibe beaches so if you are feeling a bit more adventurous or just want to try another beach you could take a trip to either of these beaches.
Playa Dominicus was the first beach in the Caribbean to have Blue Flag status (an eco-label showing high honors in a beach's commitment to sustainable development].
Located near Bayahibe, it is popular with scuba divers due to the presence of a large reef.
Playa Dominicus is bordered by several all inclusive resorts [cont right]

Scuba diving is very popular in this area whether you are a serious scuba diver or just want to learn.
All resorts have dive centres staffed with highly qualified personnel offering PADI training. Sometimes they offer a free introductory lesson in the swimming pool.
There are also diving schools in Bayahibe which acts as a departure point for many trips.
Casa de campo Dominican Republic
Catalina Island is best appreciated by experienced divers. There the "wall" attracts vacationers from La Romana resorts but also divers from throughout the Domiican Republic. Only 20 minutes by boat from La Romana, it is one of the few places to see very large fish, such as grouper.
Catalina's shallower dive of about 25-30 feet off the island is simply beautiful. An abundance of purple sea fans, orange, brown and grey gardens, and a variety of multi-coloured, fluorescent fish surround divers as they wander about. There is excellent visibility of 90-100 feet and good light refraction.
Sadly most of the big species around the island's popular coral reefs have been depleted by intensive spear fishing.
Near to La Romana is Bayahibe where large schools of fish are accustomed to bread feedings from local divers. Just waving a white glove will produce a flurry of activity. This practice is being discouraged by ecologically-minded people as it reduces the survival instincts of the fish, and disrupts the food chain.

Fishing trips can be arranged at the major hotels and you can get to grips with barracuda, tuna or dorado.
Horseback Riding
Casa de Campos Equestrian Center offers excellent riding.
Another good option is Rancho Cumayasa. Or the Guavaberry Equestrian Center in Juan Dolio.
Shooting
A little known but very popular attraction at Casa de Campo is the resort's Shooting Center. It is a large facility with trap, skeet and sporting clays in addition to new feature - night lights that allow golfers to play golf during the day and shoot at night!
